This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to deliver oxygen administration and resuscitation to support injured or ill casualties until the arrival of medical assistance. Training is delivered to be consistent with current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Refresher training in oxygen administration and resuscitation should be undertaken on an annual basis (including annual CPR Refresher).

• Set course fee for groups of up to 10 participants is $750.00

Pre-requisites:

• Minimum participant age is 16 yrs
• CPR training within past 12 months (CPR training can be included if required)

Course includes:

• Oxygen cylinder identification, handling & storage
• Safety precautions
• Checking and testing of equipment
• Side effects of giving oxygen
• Assessment and recognition of the indications for the provision of oxygen in both the breathing and non-breathing victim
• Provision of therapy oxygen via "Hudson mask" for breathing victim
• Provision of supplemental oxygen via Pocket-Mask for non-breathing victim
• User maintenance and cleaning
